This year has been tough on our little family. At the start of the year we vowed to plan family get aways and escape at least once a month. To relax, to rejuvenate and to find some peace in our otherwise stressful lives. Somehow that didn’t happen, life got in the way and we last weekend we realised that we hadn’t been away since January so we called our friends, packed up the car and headed for hideaway bay.
We arrived mid afternoon as the tides were going out, the boys set off around the rocks to go fishing and we hit the beach. The outgoing tide left the perfect amount of water along the sands to create pools just the right size for the kids to splash about in up to their waist.
I can’t tell you how much we needed this and how nice it was to get away. To laugh, to chill and to find our balance again. Were more determined then ever to keep the promise we made at the start of the year and get away more often.
Stay tuned for part two.

We made lots of promises about short breaks, but haven’t really gone on any yet..
The water looks incredible. Love baby V’s one leg up one leg down look. Might steal it!
