Holiday Diaries: Family Escape

Our friends aren’t really keen on the whole long stint camping thing so after waking up with the sun we had breakfast together and then we packed up our camp site ready to hit the road. While we packed up the kids discovered that birds were rather friendly {and hungry too} so while they chased the birds we were left alone to pack the cars in peace which was all sorts of wonderful.

After we said our goodbyes we headed along the coast a bit to check out another spot we’d like to explore later and then made our way down towards another spot which is a little bit close to home. Hubby was still keen for a fish so we stopped at Laguna Quays to check out the marina and the kids chilled out and watched a movie in the car while Hubby got some quality alone time with his rod.

We arrived at Midge point just after lunch and after setting up our camp we headed straight for the beach. Seriously, how’s the view.
The view from our tent
Violet really is a child of nature and turns into a true wild child at the beach. The big kids walked along the beach collecting shells, while Violet did her best to drink as much water as humanly possible.

By nightfall the girls were exhausted and after a quick shower and dinner Violet was fast asleep. Luigi and I didn’t fall asleep as easily and last until about 8pm when we fell asleep in front of the laptop. Thank god for modern technology.

The next morning we took another walk on the beach and then packed up our little campsite and headed for home. After unpacking the car we sent the kids off to their rooms to watch a movie and did not move from the couch for the rest of the afternoon. This whole relaxing business sure is exhausting.
