On Sunday I woke up at 6:15am (hello Sunday morning) to make sandwiches and hunt around in the cupboard for snacks for a mini road trip.
We picked Josceline up at school at 7:30. She had spent the night having a sleep over with all of her friends and immediately crashed before we even hit the highway.

We drove up to the township of Eungella which is about 1 1/2 hours from home. We arrived early so we took the kids down to the river to see if they could spot the any platypus’s and have a walk in the rainforest.

Next stop. Cricket. Yes you heard me correctly I said cricket.

Now I’m pretty good when it comes to sport and ill happily drag the kids along to a number of sporting events but cricket is just something I can not stand . I just don’t get it and I never will.
Luckily the grounds had a fabulous set up and the kids were entertained for most of the day. Which meant more kid free time for me.
Four hours later my husband stumbled off the field complaining he’d almost done his knee and a number of other problems. I rolled my eyes and smiled and handed him a beer. Surely this earns me a few brownie points to tuck up my sleeve.
