Were going to be late.

Luigi left at some ungodly hour this morning. I peaked out from under the covers to say goodbye and then rolled over again to catch a few more hours of sleep. I felt Violet jump into bed with me at some point so I just picked her up and placed her over on Luigi’s side where she too continued to sleep.

The next thing I was awake again but only just, I could see the sun peering through the curtains and could hear the workmen across the road tapping away. I looked at my phone to check the time and it was 8 o’clock.

My went into action mode. 8 o’clock that’s normally when we were walking out the door to go to school, the bell goes at 8:30 we were never going to make parade. I lay there thinking how easy it would be to just roll over and go back to sleep but the thought of having to put up with three kids all day instantly turned me off and I dragged myself out to bed leaving Violet there hidden under the covers.

I moved to girls room and found both their bodies hidden under the covers, they were not going to be happy. I threw some clothes on their beds and wandered off to the kitchen to make lunches and breakfast.

By some miracle 20 minutes later I dragged Violet out of bed, handed her a packet of twisties {world’s greatest mother right here} and grabbed yesterdays jeans off the floor and we walked out the door.

Thankfully we had the car today and pulled up at school with just enough time to throw the kids bags in the racks and sit down for parade before the bell rang.

And baby Violet. She’s totally rocking those pj’s at school parade. Thank god we live in the bush!

Messy hair +yesterday’s jeans = rock chic! Well done on making it on time. This morning Monkey Boy had an icecream cone for breakfast, so don’t feel too bad. It’s dairy, right?
