Setting myself some pregnancy rules.

Couch in the backyard. Why not. #bushlife

This pregnancy I’ve decided that because it was totally unexpected and a little bit of a shock that I need to take control. I feel like I’ve been in denial about this whole fourth child thing for so bloody long and and it’s not that I’m not happy about it, it’s just I seriously thought we were done.  But now at almost 16 weeks it’s getting a just a little bit ridiculous so. This week I’m sucking it up, moving on with life and making some changes.

 This pregnancy:

There will be no guilt about what I eat.

There will be no hiding the fact that most days I do have a 2-3 hour with Violet.

There will be no umming and ahhing over buying fat clothes. If I need them {and if the budget allows it} I’m just going to go and buy them.

There will be a lot of indulging in bloody good food.

And many weekends away {when the budget allows for it} guilt free.

I will buy whatever pram I want. Not even taking cost into account and only caring that I come out of it with a pram I love and will be happy with for at least 3+ years. Seriously cheap crap gets you no where.

And most of all I forbid myself to have diabetes. Because it really does suck!

So tell me. If you were to do it all over again. What rules would you set for yourself?

Those are good rules, especially the pram one. Some things you just have to spend the money on. And your diabetes rule is my number one rule for my next pregnancy. Having GD seriously sucked the first time round and made what should have been an awesome time of my life an emotional rollercoaster and a blur of being obsessed with what I was and wasn’t allowed to eat and finger-pricking and just general shitness so I really want to avoid it next time if I can.

Mine were close to the opposite actually. I pretty much only bought op shop clothes but did pretty well. I still felt good and didn’t spend too much. Might be different if i ever get to four though!

I’d take a ridiculous amount of bump and newborn photos.
I got a lot of my maternity clothes from asos so much more affordable than shops here!

I am in the same boat as you…18wks pregers with our third and my rules for this pregnancy are…
Enjoy as many breaks before bub comes…so have a weekend away booked with hubby, going away in school hols with kids, and I would like to get away at least another 2-3 more times before this bub comes

Take timeout for me and not feel guilty about it…really want to go and do a high tea because I have never done it before ie get some girlie time

    Sleep

Like you try not to get GD…it is in my family as is Type 2….so doing my best not to get it

    Most of all
Enjoy this pregnancy/birth because all going well it will be our last and I want to savour every minute :)

High Five to all of these. Naps. Naps are key.

I spent a bazillion dollars (okay, not really, but it felt like it) on my dream pram. I spent more than 5 hours in-store playing around with my shortlist (and this is after hours of internet researching & phoning around to discover which stores had all of my shortlisted prams in stock so I could play!) and in the end I went with the most expensive one. I haven’t regretted it for a moment. There is something so amazing about having a pram that I don’t think twice about bringing out of the car, because it’s so lightweight and EASY. It’s endured everything I have to throw at it, and still looks classy.

    Go for it!
