I’ve never been one to follow a routine. My life just doesn’t work like that and we’d never keep it in place.
But one of the things I stick with it is that Violet must have a daily nap. I’m usually home and if she’s getting grizzly around 11 I will happily put her down with a bottle of milk and she will stay in bed until at least 1:30-2 pm
If we’re out she knows when she’s done but usually battles on until we’re on our way home in the car or the pram and then she’s out in an instant.
The last few days. We’ve kind of thrown all of the rules out of the window. We’re sleeping in until 9-10am and not leaving the house until 10-11 which means..witch hour and one cranky baby. It’s like a time bomb really.
It drives me insane and she is such a little devil without a nap. She’s constantly running off or testing my patience. Three children and she’s the first one to test me so much.
Somedays were lucky and other days like today it hits us smack bang while we’re in the middle of town and I find my child laying on the floor of the Telstra shop having a silent moment compiling her thoughts while we stand there anxiously waiting for the beast to explode.
Today I’m reinforcing the rules, taking back nap time and saving my sanity.
Id love to hear what rules and routines in place at your house. What saved your sanity?
