If you walkedpast me on the street you wouldn’t know who I was. You wouldn’t know what mythoughts were on toilet training or what kind of nappies I buy for my children.I’m just another stranger walking along the street. But, if you’re a regularhere you know pretty much everything about me don’t you.
I’m the mum whohates nappy pants. I’m the mum who will happily sit there and go on about how muchI do not like them I will happily sit there and tell you they are no differentfrom any other “ordinary” nappy and your wasting your money.
Yes that’s me.I’m a hypercritic.
The truth of thetale is quite simple really. You see I used nappy pants with my first daughter 8years ago and we didn’t live happily ever after so ever since then I’ve beendead against them.
So a few weeksago when brand meets blog contacted me and asked me to trial huggies nappie pantsmy first thoughts were no way. I can’t possible do that, I don’t even like them.. I can’t write about something Idon’t like.
I took a fewdays and thought it over. I thought long and hard and eventually gave myself aswift kick up the bum for being so silly. It’s been 8 years since we have used nappies pants, 8 years.
Everything haschanged so much in the last few years, technology is getting better, ourinternet is at lightening fast speed and nappies..well it’s like a whole newworld out there for nappies. How do I know what they are like if I don’t try it.I could be missing out on this amazing product and I would never even know.
A few days latera months worth of nappies arrived on my doorstep. I was wrapped. We spend anabsolute fortune on nappies and this was really going to impress my husbandwhen he does our next family budget. That alone was worth its weight in gold.
It’s been a fewweeks now and we have been putting the huggies nappy pants to test. Our household has beenthrough a lot the last few weeks {gastro, spewing, explosive poo’s and so muchmore} and I have to say I’m really impressed.
While Violet is a little younger then most ofthose starting to use nappy pants I have found that they have been really easy to use on my wriggly toddler, reliable, slim fitting {no big bums here}and lets not forget that super cute design.
The nappies we were using were 8-15kg so we actually had a chance to trial them while on the road travelling when Josceline took a turn for the worst and wasn’t feeling so great.
I love that wehad a comfortable weight range between the two girls and we were able to usethem on both cheeky monkeys seeing benefits from both of them as well as a fewdown falls.
Penny for mythoughts you ask. The nappies certainly made my life easier the last fewweeks. They were convenient, easy to use and totally function able BUT rightnow sere just not ready for them and it’s hard to give a true representation ofif they work without Violet being old enough to be able to sense she is wet enoughto need to go to the bathroom.
So for now wehave put the pull ups aside and are going to continue with regular nappies but huggieshave changed my view of training pants and we will definitely be revisitingthem in a few months time when Violet is ready to start toilet training and isa little more aware of what’s going on.

Hi B,
This is a sponsored post but I was not paid for it. I have had a bad experience with pull ups in the past and I was genuinely interested in trying them out to see if they had changed.
I was paid in product for this post and I'm very happy with the exchange and the product.

Pull ups are great for the whole nappy-to-potty-to-toilet transition! As a mum to a 2.5 year old I am fast approaching this new stage of life very quickly. I would *love* to win the pull ups, and why not!? Love your blog btw! Rebecca – krisandbec@internode.on.net

I dont mind the nappy pants as they hold as much in as regular ones. Training pull ups were a waste of money with byron. He just did his business in them as per usual.. Plus i didnt like that you couldnt wrap up the pooey ones like a regular used nappy…

While my daughter was still having night time accidents we used the Nappy Pants instead of the night time Pull Ups. Cheaper, more in a packet and no leaks. I was very happy with them.
As far as Pull Ups are concerned, I find them a waste of money. When it is time to toilet train my son, he will be straight in jocks- just like my daughter went straight into undies.
I think doing a review in exchange of a months worth of butt covering is a great deal! I would have done it for sure

I'd always thought they were a load of crap, for sucker parents who want to waste money on whatever Buggies dictates.
We've been using them for my son while he's in this half-toilet training mode. They are incredibly handy when halfway through church my toddler yells out 'Poo Mummy, toilet!'. I like knowing that if I've already missed it, I'm not in big trouble, but it's easy enough to encourage his fascination with the toilet.
When I actually get off my ass and start toilet training properly, we wouldn't use them, but for this awkward in between stage? Great.

I think pull-ups are great, I used them when my daughter toilet trained when we were out of the house. She still used the toilet but if we didn't make it in time it didn't matter and now I am toilet training my second daughter it would be great to win these.

I've never used pull ups, but I'm wondering if they would make life easier when I toilet train my second son.
Our first boy started toilet training 22 months ago. He still has very frequent accidents and is wet overnight. He turns 4 in one month.
SO whatever we did last time didn't work too well!

I love nappy pants, campbell refuses to sit still at change time so it makes things SO much easier for us.Campbell also had a habit of undoing his nappy and cant figure out the nappy pants.
As for Pull ups, i havent tried them. I was over the moon with the nappy pants so felt no need to try pull ups.

I'm confused isn't nappy pants just another name for pull ups?? Anyhow I have found pullups don't hold enough overnight which is when I need them for. If nappy pants are different I'd love to try them. On the other hand pullups were amazing for us on our recent o/s travels. Our son is completely toilet trained except for sleeping but we used them in case we couldn't find a toilet or on planes if the seatbelt sign was on and he needed to go.

I thought nappy pants were the same as normally nappies (absorbancy wise) but had the same sides as pull-ups?
If so they would be great for my 14mth sold wriggle pot!

Hi Wum, is this comp still open?
I have now converted to nappy pants because Jordyn won't keep still! So instead of holding her down while she screams and I put her nappy on, she will step into the nappy happily! She has also started to pull them up on her own, although, they get bunched up under her bum, and she hasn't figured out how to fix that… but it's pretty cute watching her walk in circles trying to pull them up.
We are also about to hit the toilet training stage, (hopefully before new baby arrives anyway), and I've heard good things, although, we will wait and see.
